BCW (Burson Cohn & Wolfe), a leading global communications agency, announced Jillian Janaczek has been named Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Market Leader for New York, the firm’s largest market globally. In her new role, she will manage talent and operations of the firm’s headquarters office, maintain key client relationships and help drive business growth across all industry sectors. Rachi Govil will assume the role of Executive Vice President, Managing Director, New York Healthcare Practice Leader.

“Jillian is a veteran communications professional and leader with deep experience running and growing multimillion dollar clients and large teams,” said Chris Foster, President, North America, BCW, to whom Janaczek will report. “She is also deeply committed to finding and nurturing the best talent in the business. Jillian will be an invaluable partner to me and to our entire organization as she builds the business in our largest market.”

Before this role, Janaczek spent more than a decade as Managing Director, Healthcare, at BCW. Jillian was a pioneer in digital and integrated communications, which led the practice to double-digit growth over many years. She has spearheaded award-winning programs across multiple categories, launched dozens of products, managed U.S. and global milestones and led Rx to OTC switches. Jillian has worked across consumer, corporate, advocacy, public affairs and crisis. She joined the firm in 1997.

Rachi Govil takes on the New York Healthcare Practice Leader role after serving as Deputy Practice Director under Janaczek since 2015. Govil has worked across many therapeutic areas including oncology, neurology and infectious disease. She also has led strategic communications activities in both pre- and post-approval settings for the U.S. and globally. Govil has a strong track record of overseeing the business by working with her team to deliver quality work, strong counsel and diversified offerings, while developing deep relationships across multiple touchpoints – from communications to marketing to advocacy to legal and regulatory. She has been with the firm for 13 years.

“Rachi has partnered with me for the last three years in running the New York healthcare practice,” said Janaczek, to whom Govil will report. “Her expansive experience across the entire healthcare landscape is an invaluable asset to our clients and will be essential in helping us build the practice. She is also dedicated to developing the next generation of healthcare communicators. I know our New York healthcare team is in excellent hands with Rachi,” Janaczek added.
