Attempt to murder BJP MLA

Madhya Pradeshs ruling Bharatiya Janata Party Legislator Subedar Singh Rajodha, who represents Jaora, has escaped by a whisker in a murder attempt on his life. Sometime before the attack last night, the MLA left his residence. Following a complaint by the politicians brother Ramkumar Singh Sikarwar a case was registered against at least 12 people, including three political rivals. The accused are absconding. Four named offenders who are in the liquor business and their accomplices opened fire on the MLAs dwelling. Adequate arrangements are in place vis--vis Mr Rajodhas security. Municipality Vice-Chairman Dharmendra Singh Sikarwar, his brothers Roopendra and Ravindra Sikarwar besides another relative are among those named in the first information report, Additional Superintendent of Police Raghuvansh Singh Bhadauria said. All the accused are associated with the main opposition Congress. Mr RS Sikarwar told police that, at 2230 hrs, the attackers abused the legislator and fired several rounds from revolvers and crude guns. Nobody was injured. This is the fourth assault of its kind. The Chief Minister has been informed of the earlier incidents. I have urged the Chief Minister to enhance my security, Mr Rajodha said.UNI XC-AC AE AS1715
