Coca-Cola Pres India, Ashish Vidhyarti conferred with Hindu College Alumni Awards

Venkatesh Kini, President, India and South Asia, Coca-Cola India Inc and actor Ashish Vidhyarthi were today conferred with the ''Distinguished Alumni Awards,'' hosted by Hindu College Delhi University. Justice Ravindra Bhat, who himself is an alumnus of the College, was the chief guest at the 13th edition of the yearly event. ''Alumni Associations play a very important role in promoting the welfare of the University as well as in broadening and sustaining friendship among alumni. Not only is the role of association to encourage and promote enhancement, but also to sustain loyalty and enthusiasm among students by continuously strengthening the alma mater. ''I am very happy to observe that the alumni of Hindu College, who have gained great eminence in various spheres, have been helping the College to maintain its highest traditions.'' said Justice Bhatt. Theatre artist and Bollywood actor Ashish Vidhyarthi, was much elated to receive the award and meet his batch mates. ''Its always good to be back to your alma mater. Hindu college has given me some best memories of my life. Me, Vishal Bhardwaj and Rekha were in same batch and we all used to go for various competitions across the University. I was part of the theatre society and participated in various plays.'' said the National Award winning actor. Prof Sudharshan Seneviratne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India, S Mohanty, Secretary, Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India were also felicitated with the award. Dr Kavita Sharma, President, South Asian University and Ajai Malhotra, Ambassador to Russia (former) were conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award. In the past, eminent personalities like Vinod Rai, KK Birla, Gautam Gambhir, Imtiaz Ali and Arjun Rampal have been felicitated with the 'Distinguished Alumni Awards'. UNI SH RJ 1714
