Former MCA chief Agashe dies Pune | Saturday, Jan 3 2009 IST
Former Chairman and Managing Director, Suvarna Sahakari Bank and former president, Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), Dnyaneshwar Agashe, has died in the Government-run Sassoon Hospital. He died yesterday. He was 68. Agashe was arrested on November 23, 2008 for his involvement in the misuse of Rs 300 crore of the bank. Since he was in Yerwada jail, his property was seized by Co-operative Department, Government of Maharashtra, following number of complaints registered against him by the depositor. Agashe was the president of MCA for more than three decades. According to a hospital source, Agashe was admitted to the hospital three days back, following chest pain. -- (UNI) -- 03DR5.xml
