In a recent statement, JMM MP Mahua Maji remained tight-lipped about the seat-sharing agreement between the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress for the upcoming elections, emphasizing that the final decision will rest with the party high commands. "There has been no final decision on the seats. The final decision will be taken by the High Command," Maji said. She confirmed that the elections will focus on the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The elections will be fought on the name of Hemant Soren. Even the Lok Sabha elections were fought with his name. The Congress also wants this," Maji said.Highlighting the criteria for candidate selection, Maji stated, "Such candidates will be given tickets who will be seen as winning candidates, no matter what party they belong to."

Majhi further praised Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his significant contributions to the development of Jharkhand, asserting that the public is eager for his re-election.

She expressed that the upcoming election date will fall after Durga Puja.

"The Chief Minister of Jharkhand has worked a lot for the development of Jharkhand...The public wants the government to stay and wants Hemant Soren to be elected as the Jharkhand CM again," Maji said. "Hopefully the date of elections will be after the Durga Puja. He believes that if the people of the state have so much potential, if we empower them more, then our state can become Number 1. Taking this into consideration, the CM has always worked for the state, no matter how the BJP has torchered him time and again. JMM is ready for the assembly elections and the INDIA alliance will win the elections again," she added. The term of the Jharkhand State Assembly is set to expire on January 5, 2025, with elections scheduled for 81 constituencies (44 General, 9 SC, 28 ST) across the state. Jharkhand is set to go to polls for its 81-member legislative assembly later this year. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to announce the dates. (ANI)
