Former MP Kishori Sinha dies after a protracted illness

Former MP Kishori Sinha died at a private hospital here today. She was 91. Former chief minister Satyendra Kumar Sinha, fondly called Chhote Saheb, had pre-deceased her. Ms. Sinha had sustained injuries after she slipped at her local residence few days back. She was admitted to a local hospital where she breathed her last. She was elected to Lok Sabha from Vaishali constituency. She was fondly called "Bachchi Ji". Her son Nikhil Kumar, who served as Delhi Police Commissioner, rose to the pinnacle of his career when he was appointed Governor by the erstwhile UPA government. Mr Kumar`s wife Shyama Sinha was also an MP. Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended at her residence on Boring Road as a large number of dignitaries, admirers and well wishers assembled to pay their last respect her. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, former chief minister Rabri Devi, health minister Tej Pratap Yadav, state Congress president and eduction minister Ashok Choudhary and other prominent politicians condoled the death of Ms. Sinha. The chief minister informed that the last rites of Ms. Sinha would be performed with full state honours.UNI DH-IS KK
