NIFT Kannur's convocation ceremony on Sept 5 in Dharamshala

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kannur Centre's 5th batch convocation ceremony would be held on September 5 at Dharmashala campus here, said NIFT joint director G Ramesh Babu. Talking to mediapersons at a press conference here today, Ramesh Babu said that 82 students from five graduating departments- Bachelor of Textile Design, Fashion technology, Knitwear Design, Masters in Design Space and Fashion management will be proclaimed as official graduates in this function. Prof S Balaram, founder Dean,DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore will attend as chief guest and Dr P B Sunil Kumar, IIT ,Palakkad attend as guest of honour.

Prof RS Jayadeep said NIFT Kannur carries with it the vision of NIFT to proactively response to the emerging trends and business opportunities in an intensely competitive domestic environment. So , 85 per cent of the students passed out from Kannur NIFT already secured placement through Centralised placement conducted during June,2016.

NIFT set up here on 2008 in 10 acres of land, allotted by State Government, under the aegis of Ministry of Textiles. UNI AK PS RSA 1811
