In an attempt to create awareness for a healthy lifestyle, the first ever multi-city ultra marathon - the Great India Run - will be run across six states, starting from the historic India Gate here on July 3 to the Gateway of India in Mumbai on July 20.
The event will witness 12 elite Indian and international runners taking part in the entire tour of 1480 kms. The ultra marathon will be flagged off on July 3 from the India Gate here to the first stop at Gurgaon. On the same day, the race will also start from Ghaziabad to Gurgaon, from where the runners will head to Jaipur. From Jaipur the runners will cover another 395 kms to Udaipur on July 8 before heading to Ahmedabad on July 12 while the last leg of the run will start from Ahmedabad on July 15 to the final destination in Mumbai on July 20.
