Reaching out to the odd 450 physically challenged people across the country the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation here today distributed motorised vehicles to them as a part of its 'Access to Opportunities' programme. "This programme is conducted every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister," the foundation said in a statement issued. "It was ability that was recognised and not the disability as the focus was to identify those individuals whose physical disability was limiting their access to opportunities and hampering the realisation of their potential," it added. The function was attended by Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Trustee of the foundation and Executive Trustee Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with her childrens. The vehicles are given to selected participants through a formalised selection process, which began in 1992. Last year, 226 people were given the vehicles. Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary was on August 20. UNI RH PA1839 NNNN
