Odissi dance festival at Bhubaneswar from March 20 to 24

Five eminent senior Odissi danceuse are scheduled to present their solo dances during the five-day long National Festival on new creations in Odissi dance to be held here from March 20 to 24. Organised by Sankalp, a Delhi based organisation working for promoting and propounding original creations in Indian classical dances to provide artisitic manifestations to diversity of cultural expressions, the festival is to be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Tourism Subodh Kant Sahay. Sanklap Programme Director(Culture)Kasturi Patnaik told newspersons here that the festival is being participated by both established and young artists and would comprise of solo, duet and group performances. The solo dance would be presented by Aruna Mohanty, Sangeeta Das, Meera Das, Anandi Ramachndran and Kasturi Patnaik herself. In addition to it junior solo would be performed by artistes in the age group of 25 to 30 among others by Gitanjali Acharya, Gouri Shankar Das. Rosalini Srichandan and Pallavi Das, Subash Chandra Swain and Monalisa Pradhan, Dona Ganguly and Rghunath Das,Manoranjan Pradhan and Mnati Pradhan will present duet.

Srjan group led by Ratikant Mohanty, Art Vision Group led by Illeana Citaristi, Sanklap group led by Kasturi Pattnaik and Odisha Dance Academy group led by Aruna Mohanty are also scheduled to perform during the five day long festival, Kasturi Patnaik said. UNI BD AK/SS1632 NNNN
