Trivedi announces number of gauge conversion projects

Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi has announced a number of gauge conversion projects that are completed, sanctioned and sent to Planning Commission, in the Railway Budget presented in Parliament today. Seventeen gauge conversion projects to be completed in 2012-13:- Krishnanagar City-Amghata Banmankhi-Purnia Saharsa-Saraigarh Kasganj-Bareilly Thawe-Chhapra Gonda-Barhni Rangapara North-North Lakhimpur Balipara-Bhalukpong Ratangarh-Sardarsahar Hanumangarh-Sriganganagar Sikar-Loharu Sengottai-Bhagavathipuram Edamann-Punalur Muthalamada-Palakkad Follachi-Kinattukkadavu Chintamani-Sidlaghatta and Ratlam-Fatehabad.

New gauge conversion projects sanctioned in 2012-13:- Ahmedabad-Botad and Dhasa-Jetalsar. Four gauge conversion projects sent to Planning Commission:- Dohrighat-Indara Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma with extension upto Abu Road Nagbhir-Nagpur and Mavli-Badi Sadri. New Surveys for gauge conversion sanction in 2012-13:- Kalol-Kadi Gandhidham-Anjar-Mundra Khambhat-Khambhat Port Ahmedabad-Sardargram-Dabhoda Nandol Dahegam-Rakhiyal-Jaliyamath-Pratij-Himmatnagar Navlakhi-Malia-Rajkot Tantpur to Bansi Paharpur and Bhavnagar-Adhelal-Dholera-Vataman-Petlad.
