Glorious history of the freedom struggle and India's making as a nation was re-lived at the newly built building of state headquarters of the Communist Party of India (CPI) as the political big wigs from different parties/streams recalled the services and contribution of noted revolutionary and political doyen Swami Kumaranand. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, CPI General Secretary AB Bardhan, Deputy General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy, Secretary Atul Anjan, CPM State Secretary Prof Vasudev and Janta Dal state President Arjun Detha paid homage to the Swami- an able disciple of revolutionary leader Swami Satyanand of Utkal and lieutenant of Ras Bihari Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh. The occasion was the inauguration of the new building which is also named after the Swamiji who was equally respected among masses as well as leaders of different streams including the Congress and Leftists-Socialists . Mr Gehlot and party CPI Chief Bardhan inaugurated the building at a well attended ceremony. Although prominent BJP leaders did not share the podium but some party activists including sitting MLA Gopal Joshi were seen in the audience. This was not the first time when the late Swamiji who had come from Kolkata to settle in Rajasthan, was given such respect but throughout his life also he had enjoyed the same sentiments of the people. It was in 1962, when Swami Kumaranand was elected to the state assembly from Beawar, when he had come to the assembly here to take oath as a legislator many stalwart politicians, including then Chief Minister Mohan Lal Sukhadia assembled at the entrance of the Assembly to accord him warm welcome. While Speaking on the occasion Mr Bardhan, Mr Gehlot and other leaders traveled into memory lanes narrating memoirs to throw light on many episodes, events and situations of the freedom movement era. Mr Gehlot said Swami Kumaranandji was a living history and his life and deeds conveyed a meaningful message of patriotism, commitment to nation. CPI Supremo Bardhan presented glimpses of history and Swamiji's life and deeds. The CPI leader said Gandhiji off-course led the main stream in the national movement but there were other streams and currents to those contributed for attaining the Independence.
