New state-of-art premium birthing centre in Hyderabad next year

A Rs 20-crore state-of-the-art birthing centre facility focusing on making child birth a pleasant and unique experince for expectant mothers and their families, will commence in March next year at the posh Banjara hills here. Birthplace Healthcare Private Limited is launching this premium birthing facility comprising 25 wards with well equipped and trained staff besides comfortable environment and also have dedicated labour delivery recovery suites, Healthcare Managing Director Taurn Siripurapu told newspersons here today. The birthplace views it as a nine-month journey along with the mother and would offer a well tailored basket of services at every step of the way in an integrated fashion, he said, adding three more such centres would come up in Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Coimbatore in the next five years with an investment of Rs 10 to 15 crore each. Former CEO of Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited Ratan Jalan said by 2012 the maternity care market was expected to grow to Rs 11,000 crore with the affluent class contributing more than Rs 6,400 crore in revenue. In a large city like Hyderabad, it is estimated that more than 300 babies are born per day, out of which about 10-15 per cent can afford a boutique birthing centre, Mr Ratan, who is also medium healthcare consultant, he said. The centre would definately creat major changes in the healthcare systems, the Birthplace Clinical Advisor and founder of the MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS-Hyderabad), Dr C Venkata S Ram said.
