Parasram Gurjar -- who claimed to be oldest man alive -- passed away in the state capital today, family sources said. His last rites will be performed at Narmada Ghat near his native village Kesli in Hoshangabad District tomorrow. Recently, his grandson Hakam Singh Gurjar had told media that their vanshawali or family tree mentioned Parasram s age as 22 years in 1908. According to that, he was born in 1886. The Madhya Pradesh Government had conferred him with the Shatayu Samman on October 1 on the occasion of the World Elders Day. Family sources said he had no illness. He partook water from children this afternoon and shortly thereafter breathed his last. He was rushed to Hamidia Hospital where he was pronounced dead. UNI PS SB BST2101
