Astonfield partners Spanish T Solar for solar projects in India

Astonfield Renewable Resources today announced that it has entered into a long-term partnership with Spanish Grupo T-Solar Global SA to develop and commission solar power projects in India.
The first project from this partnership would be setting up of a 5 mw solar plant in Rajasthan.
"The partnership has been initiated with Astonfield's 5mw solar PV project in Osiyan Rajasthan, which will be the first in a long term strategic collaboration between Astonfield and T-Solar," the company said in a statement.
To be commissioned under Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, the government's national solar programme that aims to set up 20,000 mw of generation capacity through the renewable energy source by 2022, the project is expected to be on stream by October.
The project will generate at atleast 8,500 mw of electricity a year, sufficient to supply power to about 13,000 households.
