ONGC humbles East Bengal 1-0

A solitary goal by man of the match B Babatunde for his team enabled ONGC to humble unbeaten Kingfisher East Bengal 1-0 in the I-League football championship match, played at the Chhatrapati Shahu stadium here today.

Both the teams played a defensive game in the first half and went for a break at half time without any goal.

In the eighth minute of second half, ONGC player B Babatunde hit a goal off a pass from Surojit Bose and took 1-0 lead against East Bengal.

After this goal, both the teams couldn't manage to hit a goal till the end of the play, even in extra period, and finally ONGC won the match 1-0.

B Babatunde was declared man of the match.

East Bengal, which won last 13 matches in the tournament, got a jolt to their winning way as they lost the 14th match against ONGC today.
