Indian Military Academy today honoured Sanjay Chopra National Bravery Award winner Priyanshu Joshi of class VII, Kendriya Vidyalay, IMA (Prem nagar) for showning tremendous courage in saving his elder sister from a leopard on July 1, 2009. Lt Gen RS Sujlana, Comdt. Indian Military Academy gave an appreciation certificate and Rs. 10,000 to encourage the boy who was conferred the Sanjay Chopra Award by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on January 22, 2011. Priyanshu said on the occasion that he was very interested in Army life and wants to join Indian Military Academy after completion of school. Priyanshu was on the way to school with his elder sister Priyanka, when the leopard attacked his sister. Priyanshu showed tremendous courage and agility and began hitting the feline with his school bag. The Leopard turned his attention towards the boy and pounced on him. Priyanshu received a wound on his forehead, but continued to hit the predator, forcing him to runaway. -- (UNI) -- 28DR66.xml
