Globally acclaimed clowns will perform for the first time in India in the two-day International Clown Festival, getting underway from tomorrow at the newly opened Prozone Shopping mall here. The show has been brought to life under the leadership of visionary Clown Martin D'Souza, Director of Light House Entertainment (I) Pvt. Ltd., which has been in the business for 20 years since 1990. Professional Clowns from US, Europe, Canada, South Africa and Malaysia will come together and perform their talent and skills in this festival, a release said here today.

Martin D'Souza, the brain behind organising the first international clown festival in India, says ''There is a subtle difference between a joker and a clown. While the former makes you laugh, the latter makes you happy. It is high time that people understood this. Clowning is a skilled profession and involves from mime, pantomime, music, physical comedy, magic, balloon sculpting, juggling, unicycling, acrobatics and non-verbal entertainment,'' he explained.

The various activities planned over the two days shall include Walkabouts by International Clowns, which will be conducted in the Mall, where they will present different acts and gags. This will be interspersed by Clown interaction involving audience for on-the-spot competitions. The Clowns will also display various skills like Balloon Sculpting, Juggling, Acro-balance, and Comedy etc.
