K'taka Knowledge Commission submits report

Karnataka Knowledge Commission headed by Dr Kasturi Rangan, Member, Planning Commission today discussed with Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa about the recommendations made by the Knowledge Commission. Mr Yeddyurappa said the State Government has accepted five important recommendations of the Commission for improving the quality of education in colleges and universities in the State. He said the Mysore and Dharwad Universities would be developed into model universities as recommended by the Commission. Mr Yeddyurappa said the action of the State Government would improve learning and skills. These efforts will also improve the job opportunities for the students in the State. The awareness level of the students joining government colleges are increasing and they are asking for such courses which will help in getting jobs for them.
