The cast of star-studded 'The Blue Mug' play will start touring the country and abroad from tomorrow.

The 75-minute experimental play, directed by noted stage director Atul Kumar, is based on Oliver Sack's 'The man who mistook his wife for a hat'. It will explore the minds and lives of people living with neurological disorders whose symptoms include perceptual aberrations, loss of memories and their past.

The play will bring out the various aspect of the neurological disorders of the characters through comic, poignant and melodramatic scenes.

The cast includes Konkona Sen Sharma, Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Munish Bhardawaj and Sheeba Sharma. They will perform the play in seven metros -- Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi and Bangalore. They will perform total 14 shows from Februray 20 to April 11. The play will proceed to UAE, Oman, Brazil and the US between April and May.

Speaking to media here today, director, Atul Kumar said, ''The play is based on improvisation and is no real script. We'll keep exploring as we go across the cities filling it with anecdotes and memories. 'The Blue Mug' highlights universality of memories and the importance of forgetting. We believe each member of the audience will make a connection with the play.'' ''We are trying to capture the nature of the memories and how they get triggered and juxtaposed in the chain of our lives,'' said Konkona Sen Sharma.
