It is a gesture on part of a Bollywood heartthrob acknowledging the iconic achievements of his illustrious father and superstar of the millenium.
Actor Abhishek Bachchan recently released the special issue of the weekly 'Purnawas', which carries a special cover story on legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan on his completion of 40 years in Bollywood.
The article, written by senior film critic and chief editor of Purnawas, Pradeep Sardana, charts the journey of Big B in Bollywood over the last four decades and his meteoric rise touching new heights and leaving his senior and contemporary actors behind.
''There is no actor even among the actors of the new generation who can compete with him,'' Mr Sardana said in the article.
It is notable that Purnawas, edited and published by Mr Sardana for last over three decades, was started under the guidance and patronage of Abhishek's 'Grand Pa', Late Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan in 1978. During the release of the issue, Abhishek said he was extremely touched by an incident recalled by Mr Sardana about his childhood. This happened when Abhishek was a five-year old boy. He was so shy that when Sardana kissed Abhishek on his cheek, the young child blushed and hid himself behind the curtain at the door.
Mr Sardana had started Purnawas as the editor and publisher at the age of just 17 in 1978, setting a record of being the youngest editor-publisher in the country.
