Bail petition of Shahabuddin rejected

A local court today dismissed the bail petition of incarcerated former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in connection with a murder case.

Additional District and Sessions judge R N Tripathi dismissed the bail petition of Shahabuddin after hearing his arguments and that of the prosecution.

According to the charges, former RJD MP was involved in the killing of one Mrityunjay Singh, brother of MLC Manoj Singh.

Mrityunjay was shot dead at Gosala road under Mufassil police station area in Siwan district in 2005.

It may be recalled here that Shahabuddin is serving a life term in Siwan jail in connection with kidnapping and subsequent killing of a CPI(ML) leader. Several other criminals cases are also pending against the former RJD MP.
