Suspended Congress leader Deepak Mankar granted bail

Suspended Congress vice-president and Pune Municipal corporator Deepak Mankar was today granted bail by a local court in a land grabbing case.
Additional Sessions Judge B A Shaikh granted bail to Mankar on a personal bond of Rs 15,000 and a surety of equal amount. The case was filed against Mankar last month by one Prabhu's family accusing him of grabbing his ancestral land. According to the complainant, Mankar and his associates had forcibly entered the house of the Prabhus one night and allegedly beat two family members, injuring one of them seriously. Following the assault, a case was filed against Mankar and his brother with Shivaji Nagar police station.
Mankar, who was arrested in various land grabbing cases, has been granted bail except in one. Defence lawyer Harshad Nimbalkar said Mankar has been granted bail in almost all the cases except the Natu case. While granting bail to Mankar, the court has directed him to report to the Shivaji Nagar police station every Sunday and not to tamper with any evidence or witneses regarding the case.
