Plane makes emergency landing as passenger dies on board Kolkata | Tuesday, Mar 24 2009 IST
A German Airlines plane, with about 200 passengers, made an emergency landing at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International airport here today after a passenger died on board, airport officials said. The 73-year-old US citizen Ronald Tavel was flying from Muscat to Bangkok when he fell sick. Doctors at the airport declared him dead after examining him on landing here at about 0700 hours, the sources added. Since the passenger died on board, the airport authorities issued a certificate to the commander and allowed the airlines to take the body to Bangkok in the same aircraft. -- (UNI) -- 24CA1.xml
