Chandrahar Patil wins Maharashtra Kesari title

Wrestler Chandrahar Patil created history, winning the Maharashtra Kesari title for the second consecutive year, defeating Sandeep Barguje in the final bout at Kadegaon tehsil here today.

In two straight rounds, Patil got two points each, not giving any chance to his opponent.

Thirty years ago, wrestler Ganpat Khedkar had won the crown for the second successive year.

Maharashtra cooperation minister Harshwardhan Patil state revenue minister Patangrao Kadam honoured the winner with a silver mace and cash prize of Rs 51,000.

Apart from the main title clash, around 650 wrestlers participated in different events.
