Asha Parekh wins CINTAA elections

Noted actress-producer Asha Parekh has been elected as one of the 13 officebearers of the Cine and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA) ,the elections of which were held yesterday.
Johnny Lever from the earlier committee was re-elected with a thumping majority along with Dharmesh Tiwari, Gajendra Chauhan, Arun Bali, Sudhir Pandey, Deep Dhillon and Dara Singh.
Asha Parekh, who criticised the functioning of the previous committee, was elected along with Farida Jalal, Rakesh Bedi, Arbaz Khan, Kiran Kumar and Raza Murad.
Prominent losers were Prem Chopra, Ranjeet, Satyen Kappu, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Ram Mohan, Shubha Khote, Chandrashekhar and Anil Dhawan.
The 38-year-old organisation has 2500 members from the film and television sectors.
