Newly-elected Chairman of Koshli Ekta Manch, an organisation fighting for the creation of a new state, Hamid Hussain has said only a separate Koshal state could remove socio-economic disparities and ensure all round development in western Orissa.
Mr Hussain told newspersons here last night that in the name of industrialisation mineral resources of western Orissa was being looted, tribal people, were abused and the environment was spoilt, giving rise to socio-economic disparities.
He said the people of western Orissa were fed up with the misrule of successive governments and said only formation of a separate state would solve all problems.
Mr Hussain said a separate High Court could be set up only if a separate state was formed.
He also demanded the government to close all sponge iron plants and observe all environment laws for a pollution free industrialisation.
