Award for 'Madhyamam' reporter

Malayalam daily 'Madhyamam' staff reporter Akbarali Puthunagaram has been selected for 'Theruvath Raman Award' for his outstanding contribution to investigative journalism.

Akbarali, posted at the Malappuram Bureau, bagged the award instituted by the Calicut Press Club for his work 'Super Chikiltsa, Hitech Kolla,' appeared in the daily between August, 31 to September 5, 2006, said a release here today.

The award carrying a purse of Rs 10,001 and a citation, sponsored by family of journalist Theruvath Raman, would be presented to Akbarali at a function here later this month, the release added.
