The Himachal Pradesh unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) today said it would work with the Central slogan of 'Reject Congress, Defeat BJP' in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election.

Speaking after the state meeting of the party here, its State Secretariat Member Tikender Singh Panwar said the state committee has elected a 3-member manifesto committee comprising Onkar Shad, Tikender and Kuldeep Singh to prepare a state charter.

He said the manifesto will be ready within the next 10 days and added it would work with the slogan 'Elect the CPI (M) and strengthen the Left'.

The CPI will be taken along in the campaign. The party has decided to hold constituency level meetings and reach out to every nook of the state, he said.

Mr Panwar said apart from the central issues which will be campaigned, the party shall also focus on the state issues in the campaign.

The party has reiterated that Jagat Ram and Kushan Bhardwaj will be the nominees from Shimla and Mandi Lok Sabha constituencies.

He also said the other major issues would be to expose the BJP and Congress in their ineptness in protecting the interests of the state especially the land deals and benami transactions.

The issue of rampant privatisation of higher education and the opening of private universities would also be the vital issues for the party, he added. UNI CS BDP BD1935
