External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday waxed eloquently to highlight India's traditional principles of the need to struggle for global peace and happiness and read out lines from the Sanskrit mantra - Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah.Addressing the UN General Assembly, she said -- "May all be happy; May all be healthy; May all see what is good; May all be free from suffering".Speaking on the occasion, she said, "India's culture and thoughts have been shaped by history and philosophy that believes in peace as humankind's only rational and practical objectives".Referring to the UN role and the goal set for UN reforms and security architecture, the Minister said that without improvements in the UN Peacekeeping, this goal cannot be achieved."Early reform of the Security Council is an essential element of our overall effort to reform the United Nations," she said.Directing her ire against Pakistan for its role in aiding and abetting terrorism, Ms Swaraj said while Indian government was engaged in fighting poverty, Pakistan has been focussed on fighting India and on producing terrorists like Lashkar, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen."Pakistan walo humne scholar banaye, doctor banaye.....apne Lashkar aur Hizbul banaye (Pakistani people, we have produced scholars, doctors but you created Lashkar and Hizbul)," she said amid thumping of desks."I want to question Pakistan, have you wondered ever that while India is today considered a super power, Pakistan is sadly known as a terror-infested country," she said.UNI XC DEVN RSA 2148
