Bangladesh today strongly condemned the deadly bombing of a hotel in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, which left at least 40 people dead and injured 100.

Reacting to news of the blast while on board an Emirates flight to New York tonight, Foreign Advisor Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury said the perpetrators of the attack would not be able to serve their purpose through such ''heinous act''.

Dr Iftekhar said the government and the people of Bangladesh express sympathy for the government and the people of Pakistan at this sad hour.
