Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC on Saturday termed Mahayuti's victory in the Maharashtra assembly elections as "historic", adding that the people of the state voted for a 'Viksit Bharat.'
Though, the Mahayuti alliance registered a huge victory, Shaina NC herself lost from the Mumbadevi constituency. Congress party's Amin Patel won the seat by a big margin of 34,844 votes. "This is a historic victory. People have seen our development work, and we talk about development. People's love has turned into votes, and we will all work for a 'Viksit Bharat'. The opposition only did appeasement politics..," she said. In Maharashtra, the BJP led the Mahayuti alliance to a smashing victory carrying its allies - Shiv Sena and NCP - with its momentum. While the BJP has won or is ahead in 132 seats, Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has won or is ahead in 57 seats and NCP led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is poised to win 41 seats. The state has 288 assembly seats. The constituents of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) suffered a rude jolt with Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray poised to win 20 seats, Congress 16 and NCP(SP) led by Sharad Pawar only 10 seats. The BJP saw a fabulous strike rate with the party poised to win 133 of 148 seats it contested in Maharashtra. Party's allies Shiv Sena and NCP also have a very good strike rate. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Saturday that the people of Maharashtra have given Mahayuti an "unprecedented victory" and there "will be no dispute on CM's face". "The people of Maharashtra have given us an unprecedented victory. This shows that people are with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In line with the slogan he gave, 'ek hain toh safe hain', people from all sections and communities voted for us unitedly," Fadnavis told reporters here. "This is the victory of Mahayuti, CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and Ramdas Athawale; this is the victory of unity...," he added. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed gratitude to the BJP's central leadership for their support during the campaign. "I thank all the workers of Mahayuti. PM Modi, Amit Shah bhai, and Nadda ji all supported us. They gave priority to Maharashtra. I am proud that my prediction of winning 200 seats has been proven right. We fought as a team," Shinde said. In Maharashtra, the Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, is engaged in a fierce contest with the MVA, which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP). Following the emphatic win, After the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Mahayuti alliance registered a victory in Maharashtra assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday spoke to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and congratulated him on the alliance retaining power in the state. Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, as the Mahayuti is on course to a landslide victory in the assembly elections.
