Ahead of the counting of votes for the 2024 Jharkhand assembly elections, Congress leader Rajesh Thakur on Saturday said that the election result would also bring out the result of the work they have done. He expressed that the alliance in the state would form an even stronger government once again.
"From what I understand, the result of the work we did will be out today," Thakur said, adding that the approval by people of various schemes offered by them will reflect in the results. "A short while from now, trends will start coming in. From what I can understand, the results of the work we did is going to be out. The manner in which we worked for people, providing the Old Pension Scheme for employees, waiving off farm loans up to Rs 2 lakhs, providing free electricity up to 200 units to the public, providing help to the elderly people through pension, honoured women through Maiya Samman Yojana. The stamp of approval by people on those schemes will reflect in the results," Thakur said. The former Jharkhand Congress chief said that they would take the government schemes to the people for another five years as they would form a strong government in Jharkhand once again. "We believe that this day will decide the future of Jharkhand. We believe that we will form an even stronger government once again. We will take our schemes to the people for another five years," he said. Reacting to the exit polls giving an edge to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand, Thakur said everyone makes their own assessment but INDIA (or INDI Alliance) was set to come to power in the state. "I think who I am pointing out will form the Government - the INDIA Alliance government. Everyone makes their own assessment. But we work in the field for 5 years and then make an assessment. So, we believe that we are coming back to power," the Congress leader said. Meanwhile, BJP leader Babulal Marandi claimed with confidence that the BJP-led NDA would win over 51 seats and form the government in the state, citing corruption in the incumbent administration as the key reason. Speaking before vote counting began this monrning, Marandi said, "Look, regarding the government, we had some regrets, but after the elections, based on the feedback we received from grassroots-level workers, I can say with confidence that this time the BJP and the NDA alliance will secure 51-plus seats in Jharkhand, and the NDA will form the government here."
