Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) [India] September 27: Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) interacted with the students from Tawang and West Districts, who participated in the National Integration Tour to Delhi and Mussoorie at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on Friday.
The governor encouraged the students to take to heart the experience of the tour and let it inspire them to become more informed, more respectful, and more responsible individuals. He said that India's strength lies in its people, and the students of the day are the future. With knowledge and a deep understanding of our country, they can contribute to Viksit Bharat@2047 making India even greater, he said. The Governor said that India is truly unique in its ability to harmonize a variety of traditions, languages, landscapes, and lifestyles on the principle of unity in diversity. He advised the students and teachers to take pride in the fact that they belong to a country with a vibrant and timeless culture. Share this pride with others and let it inspire them to contribute positively to our community and country, he said. The Governor commended Gajraj Corps (4 Corps) for organising the tour for students in their area of responsibility. Major Ashish Singh, the officer in charge of the tour briefed the Governor that the twenty selected boys and girls from Government Higher Secondary School, Jang, Tawang District and Government Higher Secondary School, Dirang, West Kameng District along with the teachers participated in the National Integration Tour, named as 'Vigyan Siksha Bhraman', which started on September 18. The students and the teachers visited prestigious institutions and landmarks in the national capital, Rashtrapati Bhawan, the new Sansad Bhavan and IIT Delhi. They also visited the Indian Military Academy and Rashtriya Indian Military College in Dehradun, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) and Mindrolling Monastery in Mussoorie. the Arunachal Pradesh Governor visited the Mother's Vision Rehabilitation Centre at Aalo during his recent tour to West Siang District (September 25, 2024). The Governor interacted with the mothers, officials, volunteers and recovered inmates on the occasion. The Governor commended the effort of the Mother's Vision, a non-governmental organisation working for a free society. He said that the NGO is playing a vital role in a process that brings hope, dignity, and second chances to individuals who find themselves in challenging circumstances. Your work goes beyond mere tasks as it touches lives, reshapes futures, and strengthens our communities, he said. The Governor, who has been championing a drug-free society, said that rehabilitation is not just addressing the symptoms, but healing the root causes, understanding the human stories behind the challenges, and building pathways for reintegration into society. Whether it's addiction, mental health, physical disability, or reintegration after incarceration, dedication and benevolent services of the mothers and volunteers have created a bridge to a better life, he said. The Governor appealed to the people to collaborate, understand, and participate in whatever way to create systems that uplift addicted individuals, help them regain their independence, and contribute positively to society. As a token of appreciation and towards the cause of the Mother's vision, the Governor announced a sum of Rs 5 lakh for the rehabilitation centre. The Mother's Vision was established in the year 2013, registered as 'Institute of Rural Development' with 10 light-minded Mothers to work against drug addiction and alcoholism, led by its chairperson Jumde Yomgam Gamlin. Later it was renamed as Mother's Vision. The Mother's Vision started to carry out its awareness campaigns, orientation sessions, workshops, anonymous counseling etc, starting from Aalo town then it extended to nearby Villages and Schools of West Siang district and other Districts.
