Brij Mohan Mishra, an IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre's 2008 batch, assumed charge as Secretary of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Monday.
He succeeds Amit Singla who has been transferred as the Secretary, Health and Family Welfare in the Delhi government.
Mishra has held several important assignments in the past, serving in municipal bodies and state government and UTs in Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
He has served in the Delhi government in the capacity of Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) in east and south Delhi, also in South and East Delhi Municipal Corporation in the capacity of Deputy Commissioner and in North Municipal Corporations of Delhi in the capacity of Additional Commissioner.
The new NDMC Secretary has also worked in Arunachal Pradesh in various capacities as Deputy Commissioner, Lohit district, Secretary, Civil Aviation, Secretary, Mining, Secretary, Finance and Secretary-cum-Commissioner, Tax and Excise.
Mishra has done his MBBS from King George Medical University, Lucknow after pursuing B.Sc. from Udai Partap College, Varanasi.
Immediately after assuming the charge, Mishra convened an introductory meeting with all head of the departments of the NDMC at the Council Room.
