Businessman Robert Vadra on Friday "endorsed" Congress President Rahul Gandhi's statement on equality before the law.

During an interaction with students of Chennai's Stella Maris College earlier this week, Rahul had said that law must be equally applicable to every citizen of the country, "be it Mr Vadra or the Prime Minister."

In response to this, Vadra said: "I totally endorse Rahuls statement. I have deposed with the Enforcement Directorate 11 times for almost 8 to 10 hours a day. Receiving notices for the last 5 years from most departments have supplied all documents. Adhered to court orders n hearings. I have been n will always answer to any amount of questioning. Since there are no wrongdoings by me or my companies, n all allegations are baseless n the BJP government is simply misusing the agencies, as a means to malign me, for political gain n digress from their failed governance. Surely most of them should be interrogated too. 'The Law Should Apply to Everybody'. Truth will prevail," in a Facebook post.

Vadra, husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and the brother-in-law of Rahul, is an accused in a money laundering case linked to the purchase of a London-based property as well as another related to land deals in Rajasthan's Bikaner.(ANI)
