The Indian Air Force's Mi-17 helicopters have airlifted more than 80 tonnes of material to the inaccessible Middle Subansiri Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, for construction of a bridge over Kume river.

While the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has undertaken construction of the bridge, IAF is assisting in the transportation of material, to expedite the process.

Owing to the strategic importance of the bridge, it is considered vital for the convenience of local people and troops deployed in remote parts of the state. The bridge would provide connectivity and will join the settlements of Huri with Damin (ANI)
