2 foreign nationals booked for overstaying in Goa

Calangute Police in North Goa on Friday arrested two nationals for allegedly overstaying in the state.

According to Calangute Police Station In-charge Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, while police were performing patrolling in evening in their jurisdiction, they noticed the two foreigners moving at Baga, Calangute, Goa.

When the foreign nationals identified as Kikabi Doreen (40), native of Uganda, and Charles Chidiebere Onuchukwu (33), native of Nigeria, were inquired about their passport and visa, they informed that they were not in possession of any passport, visa or any travel document. Both of them were booked for offence under section 3(2)(a) and 6(a) of Passport Entry into India Rules, section 6(a) of Passport Act, section 7(3)(iii) of Foreigners Order act 1946 R/w Section 14 of Foreigners Act 1948. Two separate offences were registered against them.

The accused foreign nationals were placed under arrest and were currently lodged in police lock up, Mr Dalvi said, adding further investigation was underway.
