Body of man missing after snowfall recovered in Bandipora

Body of one of the two persons, who went missing from the forest area in north Kashmir district of Bandipora after moderate to heavy snowfall on November 2, was recovered on Friday.

Meanwhile, search and rescue operation continued to trace the second missing from the forest area near village Vewan in Bandipora.

Official sources said that seven persons had gone to a nearby forest area from village Vewan on last Friday, when moderate to heavy snowfall was recorded in Kashmir valley.

However, they said only five persons returned home while the weather was turning bad while two lost their way. "A search and rescue operation was launched as soon as the weather improved. But, no trace of both the missing persons was found," they said.

They said body of one of the missing persons, identified as Ghulam Qadir Bhat, was recovered from the forest area on Friday. Meanwhile, he said search operation is going on to find another person, identified as Abdul Ahad Sheikh.
