Accusing Chief Minister Naveen Patanik of shielding the corrupt officials and ministers involved in various multi crore scams, Odisha unit of BJP today demanded a CBI probe into all these scams.
Addressing newsmen here party spokesman Pitambar Acharaya said corruption and scams in Agriculture department, cooperation department and OMFED raised by a former BJD minister Damodar Rout has exposed the real face of the Naveen Patnaik government.
Mr.Acharya said the chief minister instead of initiating action against those involved in the scams ,has expelled Dr.Rout form the party on Wednesday stating that he was indulging in anti party activities.
The BJP leader said in the past also two prominent leaders such as former finance minister P C Ghadei and party MP Baijant Panda were also removed from the party for raising corruption and scams in the state.
He said it was purely an internal matter of the party and the discretion of party president on suspension and expulsion but Mr.Patnaik being the chief minister must give a clarification on the corruption cases raised by these party leaders.
Mr.Acharya dared the chief minister to order a CBI probe against all the scams raised by the former minister if he has the courage or else the BJP will take to the street on these issues and if necessary will take to legal recourse.
