LPG transporters strike called off

The North Eastern Packed LPG Transporters Association, which had been on a strike since September eight, today called off their agitation for the time being following discussion with the Assam government and IOCL.

A meeting between the striking organisation and Food and Civil Supplies department of Assam and IOCL was held here today break the impasse.

The Association decided to call off the strike and meet with the authorities again on November 20 next.

The next step of agitation by the Association, if their demands are not met with, will be announced after the November meeting, sources said.
