Maratha reservation: Man commits suicide in Aurangabad

A 43-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on Friday over the Maratha quota demand in this district of Maharashtra.

The deceased, identified as Karbari Dadarao Shelke, is survived by wife and two sons. Shelke said that he was taking the extreme step as he was unable to repay Rs 2 lakh to a finance company.

''I was not so lucky but hope that my sons get benefit once reservation comes into force,'' he added.

The Maratha community people are agitating demanding 16 per cent quota in government jobs and education. UNI VKB SV 1223
