Dimapur PAC reiterates "one government, one tax"

The Public Action Committee (PAC) of Dimapur has reaffirmed on October 31, 2013, public resolution for "one government, one tax" and to restrict all forms of collections, multiple taxations, syndicate and dealership fees within Dimapur district.

Random collections by agencies or Underground Groups that had been the cause of constant harassment to business community and was the major cause price rise in the market, the PAC noted.

According to a joint press release issued by PAC Convener Vekhosayi Nyekha and the co-Convener K Ghokheto Chophy said that the PAC is comprised of Naga Council Dimapur, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, Urban colony Chairmen Federation, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Dimapur Sadar Gaon Burhas' Union and 19 tribal Hohos Presidents, has taken this resolution during its meet on Tuesday last at Naga Council office. The members deliberated on exorbitant and random collection in the name of tax collection prevailing in and around Dimapur. The meeting also appealed to all Naga political groups to restrain from all forms of collection within Dimapur district and to uphold their declaration to cease tax collection. The meeting called upon all NPGs to unify themselves under one platform to pave way for an early solution on the prolonged Naga political issues and also deliberate to work out a means on the symbolic ration collection as practiced. It further appealed to the competent authority in the district to be vigilant and to take needful action in curbing antisocial elements prevailing in and around Dimapur, the release said. UNI AS AND
