Nanded industrialist arrested for abetting merchant's suicide

The Bhagya Nagar police on Thursday arrested anindustrialist for allegedly abetting suicide of a merchant here. The deceased, Suman Rammohan Kanagala (60), a resident of Vidyanagarand merchant of electronic goods, committed suicide by shootinghimself with his licensed revolver on late Wednesday evening, police said.

During investigation, police recovered a three-page suicide notefrom the deceased's house mentioning that he was allegedly torturedby Nanded industrialist Chandrakant Gavhane, two Hyderabad-basedresidents Bala Reddy and Vinod Reddy and Bhubaneswar-basedChandrakant Gupta, which compelled him to commit suicide.

Acting on the complaint lodged by brother of the deceased MuraliMohan Ram Mohan Kangala (55), police filed a case under sections 306and 34 of Indian Penal Code against the accused persons and arrestedGavane from his Ganesh Nagar residence.

The deceased had brought his revolver from a bank locker two daysago and had obtained licence for the same in 2011, sources added.
