The central government would stand gurantee for loans up to Rs 45,000 crore for strengthening the MSME sector in 2018-19 financial year, Union MSME Secretary Arun Kumar Panda said here today.
Dr Panda said the guarantee would increase the flow of assistance to MSME sector, create more job opportunities and increase the number of units in the country.
The Union Secretary who was here at a MoU signing ceremony between the Tata Steel and the Central Tool Room and Training Centre(CTTC) Bhubaneswar said till last year Rs five lakh credit linkage was provided to various MSME units by the Union government.
Dr Panda said he had already held discussion with various industrial organsiations and the officials of the Odisha government as to how more loan assistance could be provided to MSME sectors.
Discussion was also held about finding good market for the MSME products and how to provide more facilities MSME units under GST.
He said the MSME Ministry is giving importance to set up industrial clusters in 117 undeveloped and aspirant districts of the country including ten districts in Odisha.
At present while the country has 10 CTTC, the centres at Bhubaneswar, Aurangabad and Mumbai have been accorded international recognition.
In the second phase ten more CTTC would be opened. Out of it the MSME ministry is considering to set up CTTC in each aspirant district of Odisha, Mr.Panda said, adding that discussion was also on to set up small industrial clusters in coastal districts of Odisha.
Dr Panda said there was plan to set up small perfumed industrial units in Ganjam where Kewda flower was cultivated in large scale.
