RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday offered prayers at Somnath temple here.
Bhagwat, who is here in this coastal pilgrimage town of Gujarat to participate in All India Pracharaks Meet of the right-wing outfit, arrived at the temple in the morning and was received and welcomed by temple trust chairman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel.
The RSS Chief performed Gangajal Abhishek, Mahapuja and Dhawjapuja in the temple situated on the coast of India Ocean and is deemed as the seat of the first among 12 Jyotirlingas (optical bodies) of Lord Shiva.
He along with Keshubhai also offered floral tribute to Sardar Patel at his Statue in the temple premises.
The RSS meet will be held here from July 15 to 17. Bhagwat had arrived here last night via Rajkot and would stay in this town till July 18.
