5 killed in road accident in Amethi

Five people were killed when their car collided with a truck on the Faizabad-Rae Bareli highway near Haliyapur crossing under Jagdishpur police station on late Wednesday night.

Police said here on Thursday that while two died on the spot, the rest three succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The deceased included two brothers.

The deceased were identified as Sajan Lal (40), Rameshwar Prasad Pandey (62), Raj Karan Pandey (53), driver Ram Kumar (40) and Hanuman Prasad (40).

Due to accident, traffic on the highway was disrupted for about three hours.
