Centre gives approval for four-laning of Karnal-Kaithal-Khanauri road

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved the proposal of Haryana government and gave approval for four-laning of Karnal-Kaithal-Khanauri road. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has informed Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar through a written communication that Rs 348 crore has been approved under Central Road Fund for widening and strengthening of 132.49 km long four roads including four-laning of this road.

A sum of Rs 175 crore has been approved for four-laning of Karnal-Kaithal-Khanauri road (State Highway 8). The four-laning of this 50 km section of road would facilitate people going to Punjab and would save half-an-hour time. Similarly, Rs 34 crore has been approved for widening, elevation and strengthening of 18.70 km long Kaithal-Dhand road, old bypass and new bypass in district Kaithal. He said that Rs 70 crore has been approved for widening and four-laning of 37.85 km long Kond-Munak-Salwan-Assandh road and Rs 69 crore for widening and expansion of 24.64 km long Nilokheri-Karsa-Dhand road in Karnal district.
