The last rites of martyr BSF assistant sub-inspector Rajnish Kumar was performed at his native Saidyapur village with full state honours on Thursday.
Thousands of people were present chanting Rajnish Kumar's name and ''Bharat Mata ki Jai'' during the cremation.
The pyre was lit jointly by the martyr's three-year old son Darsh and his younger brother Varun.
The BSF jawans also gave a guard of honour to him.
Several eminent people joined the funeral of the martyr at his village and local BJP MP Rajveer Singh, Farrukhabad BJP MP Mukesh Rajput, Rajya Sabha member Harnath Singh Yadav, UP government representative Atul Garg along with several senior politicians and officials were present.
Atul Garg also presented a cheque for Rs 25 lakh as compensation announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the martyr's family.
Rajnish was killed in the cross firing on the Indo-Pak border on Tuesday night.
