Disqualification case : Madras HC delivers split verdict, matter goes to 3rd Judge

The Madras High Court on Thursday delivered a split verdict on a batch of petitions challenging the disqualification of 18 dissident AIADMK MLAs owing allegiance to sidelined leader and AMMK Founder T T V Dhinakaran. While Chief Justice Indira Banerjee upheld Speaker P Dhanapal's decision to disqualify the dissident MLAs after they handed over letters to the thenGovernor withdrawing their support to Chief Minister Edappdi K Palaniswami, Justice Sundar disagreed to it.
